Round-up: Maximize your spring style in a maxi dress

I love a maxi dress! I find maxi’s the best transitional wardrobe piece, especially the winter to spring transition. Casual maxi’s are my jam, but I’ve also picked out a few sophisticated options that can be spring wedding appropriate depending on styling. First up is my favorite out of the casual dresses in terms of pure ease of wear and warmth for those late winter days!

Old Navy 3:4 maxi

This is a great option for $30 that can be worn fall, winter, and spring. I think it’s a bit much for summer during the day but you could certainly pull it off on crisp summer nights. I have this dress in the darker charcoal color and it’s true to size. It’s lovely on and that neckline is super flattering to a larger bust. I think you could glam this up a bit with a mid-width belt and a statement necklace, but it will only take you so far because the jersey is a very casual weight. Cobalt Maxi

Cobalt is a great color for any skin tone and I can’t imagine this looking bad on anyone. The jersey has an elegant, refined look and feel. Priced at $30 this dress will pay for itself because you can wear it all through the summer. Casual with a chunky wedge and simple hoop earrings or decked out in jeweled sandals and stacked bangles. Hot Pink Maxi

Spring pastels are all the rage but maybe you want to stand out from the crowd? Try this jersey stunner in a saturated hue! The fabric is a heavier weight and will drape well, disguising lumps and bumps. This is a steal at $30 and will see you all through the summer. The styling possibilities are endless! Click here to see all the colors!

Michael Kors Maxi

Is Hampton’s chic your style M.O.? This Michael Kors dress doesn’t disappoint and is casually luxe. This dress, while eye catching, is a bit of a blank canvas for styling; I’d wear it as pictured but with some aviators for a bit of an edge. The dress is a four season dress and can be dressed up or down. This maxi dress is more expensive then my usual budget might allow ($195) but because of the cost per wear factor (cost divided by how many potential wears of the garment) and the quality of the item, I think it’s actually a decent buy! Eliza Cobalt Maxi

Need a sophisticated stunner that will get you noticed for all the right reasons? This Eliza J maxi dress is formal without being stuffy and could work for any age. For $158 it’s not as pricy as many formal maxi’s out there but it certainly doesn’t skimp on quality or wearability. It runs bit long so if you are a a petite I wouldn’t recommend this. Presley Skye

Every time I see this Presley Skye dress I swoon. Color, pattern, and that collar detail! Perfection! This is the perfect spring maxi but unless you have ordered from this company before I’d suggest looking for it in store. The cut looks like it might not flatter all shapes even though it’s sized up to XL. As soon as I can I’m off to Nordstrom to try this baby on! Click here for more details!

Anthro Maxi

I had to throw this one up just for fun! I love a stripped maxi dress, but rarely are the stripes flattering to all body types. This dress by Puella for $128 is a four season dress and according to the reviews it works even on the short and curvy! It’s not as versatile as the other dresses but I couldn’t resist because it’s too cute not to show off to you guys! Click here to view details and more colors!

I hope you enjoyed my maxi dress round up and will embrace this easy to wear shape! Do you have a maxi you are drooling over and want to buy? Share your picks with CGR and if we see something we like, we’ll publish it on the site!

I love maxi’s so much it’s probably an addiction. Don’t have to self tan, worry about proper shaving or moisturizing, keeps your legs from getting burnt to a crisp, and looks put together! I know this is probably a terrible list of confessions to make on-line but every word is true!
