Trendspotting: Designer Sweatshirts

Trends come and go. Designer sweatshirts are a trend that has been around a few seasons now but shows no signs of stopping. I’m late to the party as usual, I know. I started embracing this trend, mentally speaking, early last year. I just didn’t find many I liked that were in my size or moderately priced. There is now a trickle down into the mass market, making the trend more accessible to the everyday buyer. That didn’t really happen until this winter, so I’m glad I waited to think about buying into the trend. This post is going to focus on the designer sweatshirts that I like out there right now. These are a bit more refined and less embellished than some of the others I’ll be showing you but I wanted you to get a feel of where the trend comes from. I’ll also remind you these designer sweatshirts come with some luxe prices and limited sizing. This is more about inspiration than acquiring but if you’ve got the means to buy, we’ll provide the way!

I chose these picks not only for their beauty but for showing the variations on the trends you will see in the mass market posts: cropped, lace, print, embellished, cutout, coated, and leather. These designer sweatshirts use more luxurious materials, have more construction, and obvious cache than some of the mass market options, though a few of my picks for mass market will surprise you. We’ll have options for all sizes and body types including men, so gird your loins for the inundation of sexy sweats!

I love me some fancy sweaters! There’s a brand here, Jeanswest, that does fabulous ‘sparkly sweaters’ as I call them, every year. Best part is, since we’re coming into autumn here, a new lot is coming out in the next few months! 😀
