Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Stem Cell Shampoo & Conditioner Review

August 1, 2014 By: Erin6 Comments

As many of you know: I have a thyroid condition and have suffered some hair loss. Luckily, it’s not total loss as of now. I’ve been able to mitigate the effects somewhat by my medication, Omega 7 supplement, and Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Stem Cell Shampoo & Conditioner Duo. I won’t say the conditioner and the shampoo re-grow hair but I notice even less fall out then when I was just using the omega 7. It sounds too good to be true but it really isn’t! I have been using this duo for months now. I can say with certainty that I will keep using them! Lets examine each product individually!

The Shampoo

Accure Organics Shampoo   Acure Shampoo bottle

The Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Stem Cell Shampoo is a pleasing gel texture that is medium in weight and slip. It’s very refreshing and smells heavily of Marzipan. I mean HEAVILY! This doesn’t bother me at all and I look forward to the bombardment of scent while shampooing. It’s easy to overuse this shampoo. Wet your head and use about half of what you think you need and massage it into the crown area. If you still need more add a bit to the nape’s scalp area to finish up. It produces a luxuriant lather, cleans without stripping, and really gets your scalp in shape fast. I always chuckle at the cheeky commentary on the back of their bottles. I leave it to sit for about 30 seconds to a minute before rinsing.

The Conditioner

Accure Organics Accure Conditioner

Here is the true star of the line up. The Acure Organics Moroccan Argan Stem Cell Conditioner is a bit less fragranced and I see no reason why you couldn’t use it as a cleansing conditioner. It’s a thinner formula that you’re supposed to use at the scalp and all the way through the hair. I use this two ways. All over and just at the scalp mixed with another conditioner on the ends. Sometimes it’s not quite enough frizz control when it’s really humid out or if my hair is exceedingly dry. I will also note that you are supposed to massage your scalp with this. I leave it on for as long as I can, usually about 5 minutes. If you add a bit of water, the texture will become very slippery and really coats the hair like a moisturizing shampoo. Rinse well! You don’t have to worry about loss of volume with this at the scalp or as a cleansing conditioner.

The first few times I used this duo I wasn’t very good at scalp massage or rinsing. Once I got a hand held shower sprayer, I was treated to massive volume. Like I was the missing member of Poison. I had 3 inches of root volume! It looked like I had doubled my hair volume too. The hair won’t be as shiny as if you use a silicone product. My only real complaints are build up and that it made my hair less wavy. It makes my hair look like I have a nice bendy blow out even when I air dry it. As for the build-up, I’ve been told by several stylists and read several top stylists saying Argan oil doesn’t penetrate the hair shaft fully. It sits on top making the hair look healthier and shinier. This can lead to build up. Nothing a quick ACV rinse can’t take care of though. I found I needed to do it about every 5 washes to prevent the glorious body from being weighed down.

These products live up to their claims. My hair looks good and less of it falls out. It’s vegan, organic, color safe, gluten free, sulphate free, and cruelty free. Like it says on the back of the conditioner: it doesn’t vacuum your house but it does repair your hair. I would highly recommend this for anyone with hair loss or fine and limp dry hair.

    Hi Erin,
    Not yet!
But I habe been using organic argan oil that I received as a gift from some Morrocon friends. It is great for hair. And your post made me curious about trying this shampoo.
    Thanks for sharing !

If you like the Argan oil they also make an organic one that’s nice for very little money. Plus they have a leave in conditioner too!

They make a nice organic Argan oil too that is fairly economical when you run out! They also make an Argan oil leave in conditioner!

I like it when products make cheeky comments on the back in the ‘fine print’ too!

That being said, I can’t stand marzipan, or anything that claims that plant ‘stem cells’ are going to do anything for you, so these are probably not for me, LOL! Still, I do approve of products giving people a good experience, whatever their marketing faff is, so I’m glad to hear you’ve had such a great experience with these! 🙂
