Ladies and Gents out there battling flushing, redness, and mild Rosacea, this Derma E Soothing Series is for you! I have mild Rosacea and I really enjoy these products. Oddly enough, my favorite was the cleanser. I really love Derma E’s cleansers but the serum and the moisturizer were also really nice. After testing these for about two months, I can say that I liked the products better at the beginning of my trial but they didn’t provide enough moisture towards the end. No real fault of the products but if you have exceptionally dry skin you will need to supplement this three-step routine. There is an oil in the Derma E Soothing Series that might address this and add additional benefits. I’m going to give you a review of each product that I have!
The Derma E Soothing Cleanser is a nice gel cream cleanser. It’s perfect for all skin types. I don’t find it good for makeup removal so I’ll use a makeup wipe before cleansing. What I love most about it is that it’s mildly moisturizing and doesn’t leave my face red at all. Normally, after I wash there will be mild redness all over my face but this stops it. Even after a warm shower. My husband who has combo acne/clog prone skin also enjoys it. His skin looks so much better after using it. It seems like tighten his pores and balance his skin. An A+ rating from me!
Serum on the left and Moisturizer on the right!
The Derma E Soothing Serum has a lotion/serum hybrid texture. It’s easily spreadable and sinks in fast. It’s very soothing, cooling, and light. It’s mildly moisturizing. Everything that is in it is designed to calm and heal the skin. This is not an active serum, I prefer to use it in the AM. I give it a B rating. I feel it could be a bit more moisturizing.
The Derma E Soothing Moisturizing Cream has the most actives in it with Vitamins E & C and Retinol. It’s a good “seal it all in cream” and is mildly moisturizing. It does have Jojoba and a little silicone in it so it takes a moment to dry down but does provide a light priming effect for makeup. If I don’t exfoliate properly, I will get some clogs from this product because both Jojoba and silicone clog me up like no one’s business. I like that this has some actives in it but I also feel it could be more moisturizing. I give it a B+ rating.
Overall, since I’ve been using these my redness is less of a problem. I only need concealer under my eyes. The little bumps I get with Rosacea are down too. My flushing is even a bit less with exertion, spicy foods, and wine. I prefer to use this as a daytime routine as it’s not moisturizing enough for a night routine. My skin has been very dry and it’s not even cutting the mustard for daytime either. I’ve started using an oil in the day to help compensate. If the products provided more long-term moisture, I’d have given the other two products an A rating. The products do what they promise though and when you have Rosacea, that goes a long way!
