Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer & Foundation Brush are part of the Miracles from the Amazon set I mentioned yesterday. It is currently only available in the set which makes it hard to swatch. The Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer that comes with the kit is half an ounce of product so it’s a bit less than what you might expect, but a little goes a long way!
The Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer comes in a heavy duty frosted glass bottle with a dropper style applicator that is just like the one on the travel size bottle of Maracuja Oil. The button has to be depressed all the way to pick up a full pipette of foundation. I usually just use a few drops from the pipette and not the whole amount.
The difference in shade between indoor and outdoor lighting!
I got the lightest shade, Fair. The Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer comes in a limited shade selection currently but should fit everyone but the palest and the deepest skin tones. They seem to be out of stock of the lighter shades right now on the website due to the popularity of the set and the recent sale. All of the shades are neutral leaning to warm which was smart because they should work even with cool skin tones like it does for me. The shade will oxidize if you wear too much under it; I wore two oils and two creams one day before putting it on when my skin was painfully dry. I’d peg the shade at N10 in MAC terms. It’s almost the same color as NARS Terra Nueve Tinted Moisturizer. It’s a little lighter than YSL’s B10 range and slightly more neutral.
One thin layer (3 drops) no other makeup or retouching.

Here is a 3 drop application on top of 4 products. It’s oxidized slightly and isn’t as smooth.

The formula is a thin liquid consistency that spreads exceptionally easily. I’m not sure how Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer stacks up to the newer super thin foundations out there, but it almost feels like a serum. This formula does have a Maracuja oil base so that should key you into the texture. I find the formula just as moisturizing as the plain Maracuja oil too. Even though I have dry/combo skin, I can get away with just moisturizer underneath and have it look pretty good. It doesn’t seem to cling to dry patches at all. My skin feels conditioned even after removing the makeup. The coverage can be very sheer with just 2-3 drops. It falls short of full coverage in comparison to things like ColorStay or DoubleWear, but it’s still high. I haven’t needed to use any concealer accept around my eyes and honestly I’ve been skipping that too half time because this doesn’t fully mask my dark circles, but it helps enough to get by. The coverage is also incredibly buildable. The wear time on this is also crazy. I’ve been able to wear it all day, 16 hours or so with no need to touch up other than a blot on the center of my face. That is without powder or primer. The finish is a very natural look, it looks and feels like skin. I honestly have forgotten I’ve been wearing it at all on the days I’ve done just a sheer layer of foundation and tinted lip balm. I’ve had no breakouts or additional dryness since using this regularly. It’s also remarkable that it doesn’t ever pool in my pores as almost every other foundation does eventually when used without a primer. Powder products layer exceptionally well with the foundation, but I haven’t tried it with creams or gels. There is a slight scent to it, but it’s pretty much just the same smell as the Maracuja oil. There is no SPF in the product.

The Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer Foundation Brush that comes with the set is truly the softest brush I have ever used. My husband and pets are obsessed with this brush. My husband said it was soothing just to brush it over his skin. When I was opening the set, it’s what my cat and dog were interested in playing with. I know I shouldn’t have but I buffed it all over my dogs face and he loved it. Now every time he sees me use it, he’s gotta get buffed too or he’s going to be sulky. I’ve caught the cat cuddling it in the bathroom too. It blows all of my other “best in show” brushes out of the water. The brush is a densely packed bamboo brush that will remind you of a cross between a standard buffing brush and a Kabuki in thickness. The brush itself is at a clever angle that allows you to smooth it on, buff it on, or stipple it on in all the nooks and crannies of the face. I use the brush by putting 3 drops directly on the brush. I then “bounce” the area with the product on it on my nose, forehead, and cheeks. Then I use sweeping downward strokes all over the face and buff the edges into my neck. If I need any more coverage, I put on another drop or two and stipple it on. I wait for a few moments and then buff the edges of the stippled area. I even use the brush around the undereye and lid. I’ve tried applying it with my fingers but the finish doesn’t look as natural and it’s hard to get an even application compared to what I know it CAN look like when the brush is used. I think it would work with other brushes or a Beauty Blender too!
As a foundation connoisseur, I can safely say this is one of the better ones I’ve used and certainly ranks very high on my list. Being that it’s vegan and cruelty-free is impressive. Even though this foundation is marketed towards people who are dry skinned but love full coverage, I honestly think any skin type could use it. It’s sheer enough feeling and you can buff it out to be sheer in coverage. You shouldn’t throw away your concealer just yet, but you can use much less with the Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer Foundation. I give the foundation an A rating and the Foundcealer brush an A+. The only way the Tarte Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer Foundation could be any better would be a slightly easier to control pipette and not claim you won’t need concealer AT ALL after applying it. I don’t mind that it doesn’t have SPF in it, but a version with it would be pretty awesome!
