I’ve been slowing compiling a list of things I want to try or purchase this season. It started out as a quest for a new facial sunscreen, but it quickly devolved into “OOOOHHH” and “AHHHAAAAHHHH” over new perfume selections at Sephora. They are carrying a few new brands I wanted to bring to your attention so you can try them out and let me know what you think. I’m up for a recon mission myself soon as some of them sound too good to pass up!

Yes, the modern classic niche perfumer is now being sold to the masses. I’ve been dying to try Lady Vengeance for years, but several of their offerings caught my eye that I’d not heard of too. Not A Perfume captures my attention as it’s a one note creation of the synthetic version of Ambergris, making it allergen free and a close to the skin type of scent. Midnight Oud is on the radar as it uses real Oud and not a synthetic as many do. The other one that caught my attention is Anyway which has lime as the star of perfume. Normally, lime is always a supporting note in perfumes or a top note that rarely hangs out. This concoction is lime-y all the through with traditional heart and base notes supporting its tart star.
The Blend from Fred Segal is an interesting concept. All of the choices are meant to be blended into sophisticated scents or worn alone for something more simple. You can get them individually or buy the whole line in a pack. The thing that makes this a little different is they are all oils in rollerball applicators! The choices that stood out to me are Nº08 and Nº07. Nº08 is a blend of Mandarin, Dried Apricot, Violet Petal, Moroccan Rose, Atlas Cedar, Patchouli, Purple Saffron, Oriental Teak, Amber. Nº07 is Bergamot, Amalfi Lemon, White Tea, Peach Blossom, Sake Blossom, Lily of the Valley, Water Lotus, Bamboo Leaf, Sage Wood.
Another line centered on layering their creations but with cocktails as their inspiration. This company sells at Sephora, but they also offer the scents and different options on sizing through their website. They started off on Kickstarter too to get their business off the ground! The immediate standouts for me are Tea, Book, Whiskey, and Gold. Tea and Gold are both from their White Collection, which is a bit lighter and more feminine overall in its notes. Tea is a blend of Citrus Accord, Sicilian Lemon, Bergamot, Freesia, Muguet, Jasmine Sambac, Sandalwood, White Musk. Gold is a blend of Bergamot, Juniper Berries, Camphor, Amber, Haitian Vetiver, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Nubian Musk. Book and Whiskey are from the Black Collection which is unisex to masculine in nature with heavier compositions. Book is a blend of Cucumber, Eucalyptus, Bergamot, Lavender, Amyris, Amber, Sandalwood, Haitian Vetiver, Balsa, Guaiac. Whiskey, as its name implies, is a blend of Bergamot, Lemon, Eucalyptus, Lavender, Sage, Ivy, Dark Musk, Amber, Cinnamon, Mahogany, American Oak.
