1.5 months of use day and night and there is so much left!
A few months ago I tried the Derma E Soothing line, I really liked the line, but it didn’t moisturize enough over the winter. Derma E read my review and sent me a product to try rotating in with the Soothing line. Derma E Hydrating Night Créme is exactly what I needed! The frist time I used it, I knew I’d love it. Even though it’s for night use, I’ve been using in the day when I don’t need to wear SPF or where my NARS TM with SPF 30 will be enough. Let’s see what the products claims are.
Thoroughly moisturize and plump skin to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles with this ultra-hydrating night crème. This extra-rich, deeply penetrating formula delivers the unmatched hydrating properties of nature’s moisture magnet, Hyaluronic Acid (HA). A single molecule of HA can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water, binding moisture to help plump, soften, smooth, tone and rehydrate skin. Enriched with anti-aging antioxidants, Vitamins C and E, and soothing Aloe, this formula helps defend skin from free radicals and the effects of the environment. Ideal for dry, dehydrated skin that needs richer moisture throughout the night, this crème delivers maximum hydration while helping diminish the signs of aging for softer, smoother, younger-looking skin. 100% vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, sulfate-free, mineral oil-free, lanolin-free, gluten free, GMO-free.
It does do everything it says and more. I’ve tried some HA products before and they didn’t seem to penetrate the skin no matter how much I exfoliated. This one doesn’t have that problem. The Derma E Hydrating Night Créme has a fine gel-cream texture that feels both light and rich at the same time. It feels deliciously cooling and soothing upon application. It sinks in very quickly. It will leave the skin slightly satiny to the touch for a few moments, but then you just feel moisturized. Combined with a normal gentle exfoliation routine and my other usual products, it helped get rid of all the tightness and dryness plus the few minor flaky patches I had in just a few uses. It plays well over every serum or oil I’ve tried it with and some nights I’ll use just this if I’ve used my PTR UnWrinkle Pads. The biggest surprise is the amount of redness this cream reduces. Almost as good as the whole Derma E Soothing line! If you suffer from redness from surface dehydration, then this will help. It also goes on nicely under makeup in the winter or any foundation that you own that might be slightly drying all year. I find it’s a little too rich for me under my Tarte Maracuja foundation now that’s it’s spring, but it’s great with all my other ones including my powder foundations. I recently reviewed Chanel’s new serum and in terms of sheer hydration, they are on par. The Chanel gives you a bit more plumping action on the fine lines, but Derma E gives you more flake and redness control. I also felt the Derma E sinks in more and quite a bit faster than the Chanel. Plus, this cream is normally $30 for 2 oz of product but it currently on sale for half price. It has a similar effect to another Chanel product, the Hydra Beauty Créme which I have sampled a few times. The only real difference between the two is the tenor of the smell, but they feel very similar going on and produce similar results. My only qualm about the product is the strong scent. Mind you it’s about as strong as the Chanel products I mentioned but I think those are over fragranced too. The fragrance itself isn’t bad, it reminds me of a shampoo I used in the 90’s.
Honestly, I have to give the Derma E Hydrating Night Créme an A+ rating even with the strong scent. It does everything it says it will while being budget friendly, luxurious to use, and cruelty-free. If anyone out there is looking for a good moisturizing night cream, I’d recommend it for any skin type for evening use and for dry or mature skin both morning and night are fine! I also found that this moisturizer plus a 99 cent Korean sheet mask produces the same effect as the Chanel serum without the icky night sweats. More on that later!
