Fall is just starting to peak out in North America (where I am it’s been hanging out a couple of weeks) so I’ve been window shopping the internet looking for good pieces to update my wardrobe. I like to dream big so think of this post as my mood board. The hallmark of early fall style for me is all about transitional dressing, stuff I can wear when the days are still warmer that can be layered and accessorized to keep in step with the plummeting temps.
This is an easy piece to add in for some early fall style. It’s also in the color of the year, Marsala. Wear it easy as shown for now and layered all through the winter!
Another easy choice and the perfect foil for your belt and scarf collections.
A maxi dress with the appeal for now and later!
I love this one! It’s a dress or a tunic, with pockets, and it doesn’t need to be dry cleaned. Since the 70’s and boho are still strong trends, this is a great piece to spice things up!
Loose over cut offs or tucked into a pencil skirt or smart set of trousers, this will carry you from now until spring.
This is an early fall fashion bargain. Perfect for now and looks more expensive then it is! The slight swing shape is on trend but not too bulky to layer.
This comes in 4 great colors and is perfect all year long with feminine details.
Perfect for early fall. Wear it alone now and layer it later. The swing shape and a tunic length will hide all those winter comfort meals!
This semi-sheer top is between a tee and blouse which will help you rack up miles on this beauty. Perfect for the office or for weekends with slouchy boyfriend jeans.
Pair it with shorts now and pants later or a midi/maxi skirt. Total blank slate!
This piece is a nice light weight with a special metallic thread in the pleats making it a year round piece.
Is it a blazer, a jacket, or a cardigan? It’s kind of all three! Very versatile!
This lightweight jacket brings the perfect shade of sage to your wardrobe with a versatile style that’s timeless.
I love this jacket! It’s a knit with spandex so it’s going to fit well. It can be worn as outerwear or in place of a blazer.
Does it get anymore fall than this? You can stretch the coat into winter with high gloves or long sleeves. I love that the shape is between a jacket and a cape without sacrificing any utility.
Forget skirts this fall, the culotte is the hot trend. Treat it just like a midi skirt.
Laid back but buttoned up at the same time!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my early fall style mood board. I have yet to start in on accessories, but I may share some of my thoughts on those too when I get some more window shopping time!
