I know that it’s still somewhat wintery many places in the northern hemisphere but it’s 90 degrees in other parts of the lower latitudes. My current days are a mix of rain and sun but since the temp is pretty much over 50 during the day without fail, my mind has turned to spring. I’m dusting off a few pieces but I need some new ones too. I was going to do a fragrance post today but nausea and trying untested scents don’t mix well. I swear I have sympathy morning sickness as two of my good friends are in their first trimester. Enough baby talk, here are a few things I’m loving!
Anyone who knows me well knows I think pants are a “Tool Of The Man™” and pants represent “adulting” which I’m firmly against. Yet I wear them still. These pants are perfect for spring and early summer. The color is pastel enough to be on trend but dark enough to keep you looking slimmer than traditional light colored pants. These pants can be dressed up or down.
Blush and light pastel violet trousers are super hot for spring 2016, like runway hot. These are surprisingly similar to some I’ve seen. Have I sold out to “The Man™”? For these perfect office pants, I might just have to do that. Imagine me making fun of Rachel Zoe saying “Oh my god, I can’t even…” when looking at these pants.
This is in my must buy category. I need a slouchy linen shirt in my life. This is the perfect combo of texture and no wrinkle poly with a relaxed shape.
Geometric prints are in right now and this swingy dress is a safe way to add them. I’d pair it with a cardigan and booties now. In the summer, I’d style it similarly as shown.
This is a classic way to keep warm but not too warm. This is one of Pantone’s spring shades too. Honestly, you could wear it all year!
This was actually the jumping off point for my inspiration for this post. I saw a man at the grocery store wearing this scarf and I liked it so much I asked him where he got it. He told me and I couldn’t believe it. It’s stunning in person.
How Marc Jacobs are these? Sporty Birkenstock like shoes have been seen on several runways for spring 2016 so get in on the trend without spending a lot.
Lou & Grey
I love this jacket open or closed. The color in is in between ivory and peach so it’s very neutral.
Camp shirts and Henley shirts are really in right now. The problem with most of them is the fabric drape, pocket situation, or neckline. This one has none of the issues and a bonus shirttail hem. Plus you can wear the sleeves up or down making it more versatile. Double pockets means no droopy boob syndrome either. Spring style mastered!
In a sea of pastel shades, it’s nice to see some deep rich color. This is a personal favorite for me.
This is a beautiful classic. It’s got the perfect color, details, and a sporty orange lining!
I love the shape, texture and back of the tee. Even though this is a shirt for workouts, I’d wear it casually too.
I love the styling on this tee. It looks like a blouse but with the ease of a tee. It comes in ivory and orange too!
Another “athleisure” piece I’m loving. The green one is more informal but the black one could be office appropriate.
I love the versatility of this piece. You can wear it as a tunic, you can pair it with a lace cami and button it down more, or use it as partly unbuttoned as a swimsuit coverup. I also think it would look cute under an open front cardigan.
I can’t believe I like this dress. It’s yellow, it’s got embroidered fabric, and it looks like something I’d put an 8-year-old girl in. That last bit is why I like it. It reminds me of a dress a frenemy of mine had as a kid. Speaking of which I should probably try to Facebook stalk that person.
I just got the weirdest phone call! It was from 1995 asking me if I wanted my earrings back. The answer was yes. 1995 said it would cost me $32. I told 1995 to shut up and take my money.
I love ear cuffs and climbers but they are often too big for my ear shape. These are just perfect!
The perfect statement bracelet with a selection of spring shades!
I don’t think this would look good on me but anyone who is tall, lithe, and elfin needs this now!
My wardrobe certainly needs a few lighter toned pieces to be current and I can’t help but crave new bling as part of my spring style! Did you see anything you liked?
