The Caudalie Instant Detox Mask was part of a set of three I got after Christmas as a gift for myself. The Caudalie Instant Detox Mask was the largest tube in the “mask wardrobe”. It’s a clay mask with some other ingredients in it that are aimed at cleaning out the pores, exfoliating, and helping detox pollutants from the skin. Here is what Caudalie has to say about the product!
A detoxifying mask that draws out accumulated toxins from clogged pores to revitalize and invigorate the complexion.

Looking extra creepy wearing the Caudalie Instant Detox Mask
I have a love-hate relationship with this mask. If you have anything brewing under the skin that needs to be brought to the surface, this will do it. It also draws out blemishes and clogged pores like a beast. Seriously, I’ve been able to “dust off” pore debris after rinsing this off and running my hands lightly over my face. Whole clogs will just come right out with just that simple step. Mind you, my clogs are small compared to some and I don’t have that many. Still it was shocking to me the first time I used it. As for more active blemishes, it takes me two uses and it’s mostly gone.
The packaging is a convenient fuss-free tube with a cute wooden lid that’s easy to get on and off the tube! The product itself is rich textured pink clay that’s very smooth. The color and scent remind me of Caladryl lotion mixed with essential oils. It looks quite silly when you apply it. You don’t need a ton of the mask to coat the face well but I’d do it slightly thicker over any current trouble spots. You can use it as a full mask or spot treatment and I use it as both.
When I put it all over, I let it sit anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes. As a clay mask, it’s not nearly as drying or uncomfortable to wear as some. There is a slight “drying sensation” and tightening as the mask dries but it’s much more comfortable than most. I splash rinse it off with warm water and then remove any extra with a damp cloth. My skin is very glowy after, smooth to the touch, lightly exfoliated, and usually a few small blackheads are kind of 1/3 of the way out of the pore. I just use tweezers or my hands to remove. Simple. If I’ve got anything under the skin it will come up by morning and then I just use the mask as a spot treatment for a few hours for over two days and that will usually quash it. Any blemishes already at the surface are dramatically reduced by one use. I will say the color of this mask might turn some people off to wearing it around others as it looks a bit ghoulish due to the color.
The Caudalie Instant Detox Mask does what it says it will and it does it in a way that’s actually fairly gentle. My skin has been finicky lately and it seems to really like this product. If you leave it on longer than 20 minutes it will dry your skin out a bit so the drier and more sensitive your skin, use a shorter duration unless you are spot treating a blemish. The results last about two days in terms of extra smoothness and extra tight pores. It’s not quite as smoothing and brightening as Glam Glow Supermud and it’s on par with Derma E but it’s a little gentler and more comfortable. I find I can use this a few times a week with no irritation! Don’t use this directly before an event though as suggested because you might get some “detoxing” effects rather quickly! This mask is usable by anyone and it’s perfectly unisex.
