Crosby Street, late night. Empty street. A beautiful, passionate, all-encompassing kiss. Salty caramel wrapped in a rich crystalized amber—irresistible and slightly intoxicating and absolutely addictive.
“There are so many great moments when I see a girl walking down the street and she’s super stylish and very inspiring. Crosby Street is so unique—it’s one of my favorite in New York City.”—Derek Lam
Salty Caramel, Crystalized Amber.
Rich. Passionate. Irresistible.
When I first put this scent on I was instantly transported to a chic Carmel by the Sea cottage. I’d come up from the beach after a day of swimming and sun. I washed it off with my favorite amber soap. As I’m exiting the shower, I get a call from my love. He’s coming home, he’s got a hankering for snickerdoodles and asks me to bake a batch. I toss on my lightweight cashmere robe and make the cookies. He comes home, right before I pull them out of the oven and embraces me. I feel warm, comforted, relaxed, and a tiny bit sexy. We lounge lazily on the linen sofa watching the waves out the open window, nibbling on sweet yet slightly savory cookies.
Derek Lam 10 Crosby 2am Kiss on me starts out ozonic and aquatic with hints of amber. As it warms up the salty smell stays and it gets slightly sweeter mixed with what smells like a snickerdoodle or churro. As it winds down, it’s a clean amber with salt, smelling like freshly washed but slightly sweaty skin. For those of you who love gourmand scents but want something lighter for summer, this is an absolute winner. The scent has moderate silage when first applied that continues to softly project for about two hours. It settles and gets closer to the skin wearing well for four more hours. After that, it’s barely noticeable but still there. Total wear time is just under eight hours. I’d love a small bottle of this as it manages to be sweet without being heavy or gross and the smell is quite comforting.
I like how this feels youthful without the normal trappings of a youthful scent. It not out of place for an older woman either. The scent doesn’t develop much, but it does smell nice throughout the wear and is compelling enough to wear it again and again. I think most tastes would enjoy at least trying the scent though if you typically only gravitate to super deep rich scents, it’s probably a pass.
