What it is:
A quick-absorbing, medicated dry oil to clear congested pores, treat and prevent acne, and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles for clearer, smoother skin.
– Acne and blemishes
If you want to know more…
With 1.5 percent salicylic acid, this fast-acting, quick-drying, medicated oil clears acne and blackhead-causing buildup and debris from congested pores for smoother, blemish-free skin. Tea tree oil and black cumin seed oil support clear skin, while hexylresorcinol and licorice naturally brighten the appearance of old acne discolorations for a more even-toned complexion.
Counterbalancing the potentially drying effects of salicylic acid, milk thistle and cucumber seed oil nourish the skin and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles, without leaving a greasy residue. Chamomile and neroli soothe stressed, blemish-prone skin.

What else you need to know:
“When I formulated U.F.O., I wanted to create a dry oil that practically disappears into the skin, leaving oily skin smooth (but never greasy) and yet effectively treated for blemishes and blackheads. Salicylic acid is notoriously over-drying, leaving your skin stripped and looking irritated. By infusing salicylic acid into clarifying oils (like tea tree oil and black cumin seed oil), the drying effects of salicylic acid are nipped in the bud, while all of the treatment aspects (like clearing congested pores and managing blackheads and blemishes) are in full-force. U.F.O. is part of the new Green Line, along with Martian Mattifying Melting Water-Gel Toner, created specifically for oily skin clients.”—Sunday Riley

When Sunday Riley UFO first came out, I didn’t think this was for me, but I do get some terrible sebaceous filaments and blackheads. I decided to test it and get a sample. I was blown away by how well it worked, in just a week all the little problems were much better, and I was pretty pleased. I didn’t experience any drying whatsoever in my more oily areas. When I used it on my forehead it did dry me out after a week (it wasn’t that bad, but it was all I used that week, and it was not enough!).
Then I changed my birth control. I went from really dry, dehydrated and flaky to full blown combination with active blemishes that was still slightly dehydrated. I can now use Sunday Riley UFO pretty much everywhere regularly. It’s just as good with active blemishes too. I’d say it halves the time they stick around. They also don’t seem to flake or scab while healing, making it easier to apply concealer over them. I’m currently using it about three times a week for all over control and daily on active spots. Using it regularly has decreased the number of blemishes I was getting from about seven to ten a month down to about four that come and go quickly.
The oil itself is a bright, beautiful green and smells very medicinal but in a natural way. It spreads across the skin quickly, and you only need about four drops to cover your face. There is no stinging or redness on inflamed areas. I find it is somewhat calming and soothing and it doesn’t aggravate my rosacea. It feels slick and greasy while applying but then the oil dries down pretty quickly and leaves no residue in a few minutes. I also find it moderately moisturizing and my skin looks soft and bright in the morning. I bought a bottle a few months ago, and I use it regularly, and I haven’t even made a dent in it. I expect the bottle will last a year even once my husband returns home and starts using it full time as well.
Sunday Riley UFO can be utilized by any skin type for the occasional spot treatment or all over blemish buster. If you have ultra dry skin, you’ll want to get a sample and put moisturizer over the top. If you are normal to oily, this should be hydrating enough to skip moisturizer, unless you have something light to “seal it in” with. With how long this lasts, it’s actually budget friendly! This is probably the best treatment for adult acne I’ve used personally. It just seems to work with my skin instead of against it.
