CGR’s Take
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist was sold to me under semi-false pretenses. The SA told me at Sephora it was “silicone free” when it in no way is. I should have researched it, but since I trusted the SA and I’d never heard anyone mention silicones, I was happy to purchase it. For the most part, I’m happy with my purchase because this turned out to be possibly the best primer I’ve ever used.
I do not use this as a “skin mist” in the traditional sense. I put on my skincare and then spray this close to the skin and move it around with my fingers to coat my face. I let it dry, and then I apply my MUFE foundation. I’ve never had dewy skin in my life, but with Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist over skincare and under foundation, I can have it. It’s like runway shiny. I normally have to knock it down with a little mineral powder to set because honestly, it’s too much everywhere on my face. As a primer, this moisturizes, smoothes flakes, blurs pores ever so slightly, and banishes fine lines and dehydration. My foundation looks pretty good and last all day.
There is only one con, the smell/taste. It’s gross. Luckily it dissipates, and they didn’t try to cover it up. The problem is it hangs in the air for some time and can somehow be ingested… it’s terrible. So be careful.
I’ve had no adverse effects or extra blemishes from using it. It did seem to make the skin calm and soothed too.
Final Thoughts
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist is a gentle moisturizer and primer. I think it’s a bit wasted as a “skin mist” because it’s not as refreshing as some. The spray is nice and fine though and can be used to reenergize your base products. My only complaint is it goes fast; I need 4 to 6 sprays to cover my face. Overall, it’s a beautiful product worth a test to see how your skin gets on with it. If you have schizo skin like mine, you might like it.
