This is a little gem that was sent to me by iUNIK as a PR sample but the thoughts and opinions are my own. When I read the description of the product I was pretty sure I was going to enjoy it just based on the ingredients. I’m all about Sea Buckthorn and Sodium Hyaluronate! I’ve never been able to use niacinamide effectively, it usually leaves me flushed and sensitive so I did patch test it first. I’m happy to report it’s really gentle!
Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner is more like a gel/essence/lotion toner hybrid. It’s quite thick. It really clings to the skin and takes a while to sink in. It does have that telltale HA stickiness and tackiness at first so you can’t apply makeup directly after. I prefer to mist my face before using the product so there is a little water on my face (I’m currently using one of my Gabriel Organics spritzes for this) and then applying a few drops with the “therapist swipe” and then the “essence tap” all over my face, neck and chest. It takes about 10 minutes to fully absorb for me. I will then layer other skin care on top. The scent is a real subtle citrusy vitamin smell. It doesn’t last at all!
I did test this as my only toner/essence step for several weeks. This was great for keeping the skin hydrated when I used my spritz beforehand (though I normally use a few layers of my other toners and essences). I found this too thick and sticky for the 7 skin method. It was not enough on its own for daytime or evening hydration but I tend towards dryness and dehydration. I did notice the amount of glow you get from this is crazy. Plus the brightening effect is immediate and slightly cumulative. I’m not sure in the winter this will be enough for me as a single layer so I’ll have to work on integrating it into my routine. I saw the most results was on my chest where it really evened the tone and texture of my deep cleavage! I really wish I’d done before and after shots!
Vitamin Hyaluronic Acid Vitalizing Toner is a great choice for your daytime skincare lineup. It’s so brightening and glowy that its a shame to use it at night but you certainly can. I’m really loving the work it’s done on my chest after a few bad sunburns this year. I think the value is also quite impressive for the ingredients and the amount. The packaging is utilitarian but sturdy and effective!
Would I re-purchase?: Yep
