I realize I’m a bit late to the party on this one and frankly I wish I’d stayed home. I couldn’t resist trying them after some rave reviews from friends, both bloggers and civilians. Usually, if both camps are saying something is pretty awesome, it usually is. When I saw a BOGO on the Revlon ColorStay Moisture Lip Stain, I picked these up along with two more HD Glosses. Barcelona Nights looked fun for the summer and Parisian Passion looked great for fall.
As you can see we have a problem. For whatever reason it does two things, applies lighter to the edge of the lips and then just keeps on bleeding. I love the color but it doesn’t stain at all, it’s heavy feeling, and it makes my lips peel. All around a failure. This one gets a D+. I haven’t figured out a way to make it work as I currently own no lipliner but I might try it on top of lipstick and hope it protects me from the peeling factor.
This color doesn’t bleed as much or apply as translucent to lip edges. I love the color, but this one is heavy and goopy. It also does not stain at all. It also comes off unevenly when eating or drinking. I do have to say if you are trying to stop snacking wear Revlon ColorStay Moisture Lip Stains. You will not feel comfortable and it will get on your teeth while eating. My lips also peel with this shade and actually hurts more than the Parisian Passion shade when said peeling occurs. This one gets a C-.
The Revlon ColorStay Moisture Lip Stain lineup doesn’t have much going for it other than pretty packaging and colors. The formulas might be better for someone with non-sensitive lips but for me they have been a total nightmare. The colors are nice but proceed with caution. I personally think the HD Glosses from Revlon are much better in every aspect!
Have you tried the Revlon ColorStay Moisture Lip Stain? Did you have your lips peel or am I the only one?
